I tried this with my dog and he likes to be held by his paws, he just stands there and stretches…what advice do you have to get a dog to stop jumping if he likes to be held by his paws…?

I’m 6′2” and have a min. schnauzer so it was hard for me to grab his paws quickly. I eventually developed the technique of side or back-stepping when he’d first jump, followed by a firm “No, Sit” and then praise. He still rushes you like he’s gonna jump, but he excitedly plops his **** on the floor at the last second now.

Thx for the tips. But does this also work on small dogs? My friend’s papillon doesn’t seem to have any prob if we hold her paws…

my dog is really small and leaps up so its hard for me to do this tactic do to the fact it will be floating in mid air

good tip. also he points out people forget to reward when the dog is down. As soon as all four hit the floor there should be praise, very good.

haha, lool nice tips but it made me laugh when you said that half te people want the dog to jump the other half want it to stay down and the other half want to restle it, lol thats three halfs, i understood what ou ment but it just tickled me thats all llool

do u have a video to keep your dog from digging? my dog is half cocker spanial and unknown. he digs everywhere and I tried almost everything it said online but no luck
