sorry to hear your dog had a trauma but a little bribe seems to help them get over bad experiences too and also asking those who want to pet him to kneel down and not look or touch him before comes to them and use treats , loads of it. My dogs breed is known for it’s stubborn nature yet( no bragging here) he is superfriendly, actually to friendly if that’s even possible, lol.
Best of luck with him and thx for making that effort in teaching him

when it pulls you forward you should try what the video shows.i read in another comment that he pulls you the other way when you turn.that means you just have to practice it more.if you still have trouble i would suggest wearing your dog a choke collar so the effect of you pulling the other way will be greater.

use the method in the video but drop a treat your dog really likes at your heel after you turn around. when the dog come to your side (to get the treat) praise him (click if you use a clicker).
practice in a small spot, going back and forth so the dog doesn’t know where you are going, so he is less likely to try and pull ahead..
search for “kikopup” on youtube, great training vids!

Eric you are the man!!!
Thank you so much for the excellent video.
I tried your method to my 6 months old belgian shepherd who used to pull like a tractor.
After half an hour she became the best walking companion!!
I still have to correct her at the beginning of the walk because she’s very excited but after few minutes she walks beside me.
Listen to this man guys! He knows what he’s talking about!

thats true that he does mostly correct and rehabillatate. but he also teaches fundamentals of training. particularly, i like the way he stresses dominance over your dog, boundaries, affection, calm assertive energy, and also lots of exercise. i think, keeping those things in mind, you can raise a great pup!!!

Cesar isn’t a trainer he’s more of a dog correcter..In the sense that he teaches dogs to not misbehave Not teach them to heel and fetch..although he has done but thats not his intention…His intention is to show the dog what he is missing..E.g. if it attacks people cesar will show the dog that it shouldn’t be nervous when someone else walks in and let them into it’s home…And he is AMAZING! at his job

Our 8-month-old Golden Retriever pup LOVES to pull on the leash as hard as he can to get to where he wants to go. He tends to be totally out of control on the leash at times, so this information is very helpful! We also just got him the Gentle Leader head collar, which is already making a big difference.

The way we stopped our germain sheppard from barking was we got a bucket full of cold water, and everytime he started barking for no reason, pur the water on him. It only took 2 tries
