I really don’t much about beagles, but they are very cute. I know Golden Retrievers have a very good temperment. They love people and are fun to play with.

well, beagles bark a lot and so do most dogs and if you get a beagle you are probablly going to be yelling at it a lot ot stop barking so i personally woulsdn’t get one and my neighbor has one next door it can get really annoying…

I suggest dacshaunds or pugs. I have had those around my daughter and they are great. Beagles, Westies, Schnauzers are some good choices. However I do not suggest Chihuahuas. They can be very tempermental. And Yorkies are very fragile.

smaller dogs tend to bite more often, i’m not too familiar with beagles…i think the’re more related to hounds which are very loyal and less likely to bite than a speniel…i would go with some sort of labrador or golden for children.

Beagles seem to be hyper..Honestly..My friend has one and she has been working with it for awhile to not jump up…They love children and work as a family dog But have a bad habit of jumping all the time…I would say a Lab..Easy to train and are always looking to please..And known to be highly intelligent Dog’s They may be big dogs but are protectors and love children….Good luck

Beagles are very stubborn and they don’t listen to people because their desire is to hunt, not to please their owners. Pit bulls on the other hand love to please their owners & are very loyal, loving & protective especially of the family children.

Golden Retrieverd are usually mild and friendly, yet playful
labs are great! but tend to be hyper as puppies

Beagles are good dogs, but I would suggest a pug if I may. I have found them to be great around children.

Yes beagles. I’ve had 4 beagles and they’ve been great around my baby sister (age 6 right now). But we’ve had beagles since she was born and they are so good around small children. They have a kind nature but very explorative, they will explore if given the chance (mostly through there nose). They are also good with other dogs even if there are many because they used to hunt in huge packs so they are used to each other.

My little Beagle is sleeping on the couch right now :-D

hope this helps.

Obviously, smaller breeds are better so the children are not as easily knocked over. However, even though specific breeds are known for certain habits, I am a firm believer that an animals behavior has more to do with the environment they grow up in.

A merry hound (english beagle) whose essential function is to hunt, primarily hare, by following a scent. Are known to be bold, with great activity, stamina and determination. They remain very alert, intelligent, and of even temperament. If your dealing with the choice to fit the family lifestyle I would suggest the beagle, they are amiable and alert, showing no aggression or timidity, good for small childern. Although, a female black lab, is known for it compassion is quit caring and should not go over-looked.

Its hard to say as all dogs have different temprements. Labrador’s and retrievers are great natured but i used to have a lab and from experience they do tend to be a bit rough… not intentionally, but they are just a bit clumsy and knock you over, etc. smaller dogs such as jack’s and mini foxies, etc. tend to bite and nip as well they are vey territorial and can easily be angered by a small child invading their space. Beagles are great but can also be a bit tempremental. Staffy’s and the likes are great natured with children usually if treated well and trained. Dalmations are very good dogs, but many are born deaf which makes for difficult training. Its all much of a muchness really and depends on the indiviual dog. just do your research!

I grew up with a beagle. They are very smart. Very Lassie like. I highly recommend the beagle but the collie is also excellent. Collies need more grooming but may sell better as a pet. Most of the time people want beagles for hunting

All dogs bite, don’t get a dog which were meant to fight. I would get a beagle. Keep a close eye on your kid and your dog.

any dog can be a family pet. i know chihuahuas are generally partial to one person.. but every dog has its own personality. honestly, your best bet is to just spend some extra on a dog with a good bloodline.. that way they’re easier to train.. and you know bad behavior doesn’t run in the family. personally i have a pembroke welsh corgi. she is the sweetest dog ever, and loves children. i live with an 8 month old baby and they get along very well! hope this helps! =)
